Fuel pump problem?
#12
An easy way to eliminate the pump as the problem would be to splice a jumper wire to each of the leads going to the pump. When you can't start it use those two jumpers and a multimeter to see if there is voltage going to the pump. If there is then you know it's the pump.
Also, there are many connectors between the headlight assembly and the fuel pump and/or ecm, might wanna check them all.
I'm not sure that a pressure regulator could cause intermittent problems like this, but if you end up taking the tank off to do the pump you might as well replace the pressure regulator as well, as they are known for failing (and I don't think they're too expensive).
I have a manual at home, I'll take a look and see if there's anything I've missed.

Just figured I'd let everyone know how the problem was solved since problems with no solutions are about the most annoying thing ever on a forum for people who search...
I ended up making sure every connection was good all the way back to the fuel pump itself (had to lift the fuel tank up). What do I find? The ground wire to the fuel pump wasn't even connected anymore. The previous owner must have put it back on there incorrectly at some point and it bounced off at some point when I hit a bump or something. Anyway, thanks for the help diagnosing!
