Fuel How much?
Blackdog,
you're right...I was thinking of my other bike (a '85 VF1000R), where you have to switch from regular to reserve manually. On that bike there are two tubes and the reserve tube is lower and that will pull accumulated crap into the system. I know stuff accumulates because I have taken apart plenty of Motorcycle and airplane tanks/bladders. My mistake.

As far as how many miles you can still go, if you have .98 gallons left when it comes on and you get about 30mpg you definatly do NOT have 12 miles. Just know what your average mpg is and drive at lower rpms to get the best mpg while on the way to fill up.

yo mang...i think it's based on miles travelled...something like 1/8 mile = 1 bar or something like that.

One note - due to the shape of the gas tank on many bikes - if you ever do run out of gas, lean the bike hard over to the fuel sender side and slosh the rest of the gas over that way... sometimes you can eek a few extra miles. This is where I would imagine you could run into the old gas/crap phenomina... Never tried it with an F4i but it has certainly worked on my old xj and other people's ex.
it is in the very back of the tank so tipping side to side wont do anything...on some other bikes it will but not on the F4i.
If you take off the right side fairing you can look up at the bottom of the fuel tank and see where the fuel line comes in.
