I will be taking a long road tour in the near future and was thinking that it would be wise if I carry a small canister of fuel in case I get low in an area with no gas stations and run dry... does anyone do this and if so do you have any advice to share??

i think you should just try and map out areas with fuel stations.
it's a pain to carry fuel and it makes you more flammable when riding.

figure even 1 gallon of fuel will be a pita.
