Exhaust cannister end pics wanted
On an '87 1000F, are there supposed to be about 6 small holes circling the middle (large) one, on each tail pipe? The previous owner drilled out the side spot welds but only on the left cannister and after looking at the rest of the exhaust, I think he might have added a few to the end too. But since I don't have a reference picture (and the parts manual doesn't show any of this), I'm aslking if anyone has pics that shows the bike from the back.

I don't mind the holes on the end but he also drilled out two of the spot weld on the left cannister (right at the end too). One is pointing inwards (towards the tire) and the other downwards. I think he wanted to remove the insides to modify the baffle but that problaby didn't release it so he modified/drilled out only the ends. All the dlilled holes look old too, so this was probalby done a while ago. He owned this bike since '96 so it's possible that all this was done by the first owner.
The biek does sound nice. It's a littel louder than what I remember but not as loud as an aftermarket slip on would be.

I have heard of a modification where you remove the end caps & strategically drill a hole through the baffles. The cans on these bikes have a series of chambers which to me create a lot of restriction but I would say Honda spent a lot of time tuning them. Anyway the drilled hole lines up with the factory tubing thus removing the restriction. As yet I haven't seen where to drill these holes.
