Default Front Fairing Bolt question. Pics included.

All the bolts that connect the headlight portion to the front fairing are straight forward except two in the bottom corners. I tried to reverse them out with no go it actually torqued the faring plastics that hold the bolt completely off.

I had to dremel the bolt to get it out. Here are the pics of the said bolt. WTF is this thing and why did they do this. You can see where I removed the plastics from the broken front faring. The one end of the bolt has an expansion end that when the screw is inserted expands the end into the plastics of the front faring... what a PITA.

My real question is this. I have new fairings on the way from automarts. Will I need another two of these bastards?

Also for good measure some caliper **** for you. I just finished repainting these.

I've never messed w/ that part of my bike, but I'm sure you could rig something up to replace them. The calipers look nice, btw.

That bolt should turn out no problem. Maybe a previous owner but loctite on it, or some other odd cause that caused the bolt to fuse in there more than normal.

I can't say if you'll need to replace the back part of that (the part attached to the fairing) since I've never bought aftermarket fairings before. But it's not normal that you'd have to break it off.
