Frickin PISSED!@!@!
So i purchased an undertail from a guy that is on this forum. I spent hours cutting the fender, drilling some tappers, wiring etc. But when i went to reinstall my tail light (it uses the same stock light) there was a piece that was missing, it is a bracket that basically holds the tail light to the frame. This stopped me dead in my tracks and can not move forward. I tried to bend and cut some plyable metal to rig something on my own so i could get out and ride because its been beautiful the last couple of days, but due to the offset of the bolts i couldnt get it to work. I called hotbodies to see if they could send me the part but they discontinued this style undertail years ago.Can anyone help???
This site has the picture of the undertail:

when I made a customer undertail, I ran into something similiar. I used 2 1" stips of sheet metal to
make brackets, they had to be and riveted/(or bolted) to the undertail where the uprights use to be.
the light was still very loose, and it would bounce and not stay ligned up corretly. so, I took some foam, and an old rag and stuffed
inbetween the top of the light, and the top of the tail section. It is solid now. light sits perfect in its spot,
doesnt move.
sounds pretty ghetto, but no one would ever know, even with the back seat off you cant tell,
and it is such a sold mount, the light nevereven hints bein loose.

Here are the pics...
I put the tail and everything back on so i wouldnt have all of it just laying around my garage. The tape on the light was just to hold it in place so it didnt fall out.... If you guys need more pics let me know.
Krash, thanks for responding! Can you put up some pics of yours so i can see what you did??

Looks like a piece of cake to me. Bend two pieces of aluminum(about.090 thick)at 90º angle to fit from the twofender braces to the two taillight mounting bolts. First drill holes to mate to fender support then align the light bolts to the other part of the 90º piece of metal and drill those holes. WaaLaa, it is done, probably about an hour and 1/2 job start to finish at most.
