Default Flush mount signal problem...?

so i just purchased a couple of hotbodies flush mount signals from a member of the forum.. and for some reason they don't work.

they came with the connectors already attatched so all i had to do was plug them in.

when i plug them, they dont seem to work, and sometimes a turn signal arrow will stay lit up on my guages..

any ideas?

Sounds like it's wired in wrong. Stock signals use 3 wires while aftermarket typically uses 2.

if the turn signal indicator on the gauge cluster stays lit ie just stays on and not flushing, then the wires for te turn signals are touching. check the back of the turn signals and make sure the silicone around the wires at the base of the signal didnt melt and the 2 wires arent touching. the wires arent insulated far enough and there is some wire exposed before it goes into the signal lens.

Just to be sure that it's the wiring at the flush mounts.. you can do this.. get a test light.. .ground the neg side of it.. poke the pos tip into both positives of the stock connector from the bike (running lights and then turn signal lights). If the test light works just as it should, then you have isolated the problem to the flush mounts themselves.. then do as speedy said.. either wire it up just to the turn signals and ground or install the resistors to make them 3 ways.

Old thread bump. Thanks to this thread and Vid link, I fixed my issue. I bought it like this and the previous owner said it was a bulb. I knew better and thanks to the "search" function I found out how to fix it!

Kuddos!
