Its not that hard to set the timing if you have a little commonsense and a service manual, but I agree if you havent done it before I would not start practicing on your own bike, try it on a friends first :P

You may be able to get to the head by dropping the radiator. Can someone tell me why he'd have to adjust timing? BTW- products like a powercommander can do timing electronically, but I'm sure that mechanical timing is superior.

I am only going by my experience with my F3 (so not everything may apply to the F4i) but after I put the head back on the timing was off and it had to be adjusted. I would have loved to have had something like a power commander but the F3 doesnt have fuel injection.

The cams have to be removed to remove the cylinder head, therefore you must remove the cam chain so when you put the cylinder head back on you have to make sure you install the cams correctly and time it correctly otherwise your pistons and your valves will meet each other, and thats a BAD THING !! and a power commander only richens your fuel mixture nothing to do with cam timing, not tryin to be a smart *** but there is nothing electrical that can set the timing on an engine for you. advancing your ignition timing is a whole different thing all together
