F4i Running Rough
My bike was riding well after storage, but now the FI light comes on occasionally after really poor throttle response. It usually happens when I maintain an RPM, like staying at 4000 instead of climbing or falling. After the FI light comes on it usually dies on me. I just ran some sea foam through the engine, and it seems to have helped a bit, but I'm wondering if theres anything else I can work on before going to the shop. Thanks!
that sounds odd. try going thru some fresh gas, and do all the maint on your bike first. like plugs, clean/change air filter, oil change(unless youve done this already)
if the light comes on and goes away and act like it never happens the bike prolly just needs to be cleaned up-please forgive me, i cant think of a better way to say it. im not trying to say u have a dirty bike. you might also have a loose connection on your map or something. try jumping the diagnostic port to get the codes and see what the ecu says is wrong

i had the same problem, my bucked really bad for no reason. it ended up being that i didnt screw the battery screws back in all the way, one was crooked and the connection was bad. Check your battery hook ups!
Im going to figure out how to check the fault code. My mechanic told me it could be the battery- I lost a screw from when I put it into storage and used a different sized one. I'll try to get a better one from home depot tomorrow, otherwise its the mechanic.
So, I checked the battery; the Red plastic (I think indicates - for the wire) had a small burn mark on the side. The screw I used was gold and wayy different from the original, somehow found the original near the battery, swapped it out, now she rides like a dream. THANK YOU for the advice, saved me from paying a mechanic to do the same damn thing!
