Default F4i rich problems

First time posting and i have a question, I have noticed lately a very strong gas Oder from my exhaust, I'm not throwing any codes. Changed my oil today and that smelled like fuel, I have done a lot of research about this problem and 99% sure it's the fuel pressure regulator. So I stripped the bike down this morning and pulled the vacuum line off the fpr. Read that if the fpr is bad when you prime the bike fuel will come out of the fpr, only problem is fuel isnt coming out. Could I still have a bad fpr? I ordered one anyway, but I wanna make sure it's not a bigger problem

all i can offer what happened to my bike, i thought i had a stuck valve, but it was the fuel pressure regulator.
when it first cranked up after sitting 6 years, it ran great, then it started struggling and bogged down like it was flooding when reved.
i had fuel leaking out of the exhaust, real rich, etc, i never checked the FPR but it was the problem.
if i had fuel leaking from the exhaust i wouldnt be surprised if some snuck past the rings into the oil.

f4i are older bikes that are not as efficient as the newer ones; it's going to reek of gas a bit. i tried to swap out the FPR, but it's still stinky. Unless you have detonation taking place in the muffler due to un-burnt gas, then I doubt it's anything out of the ordinary. You may also want to check your spark plugs.

I checked the plugs and they looked fine but I replaced them anyway, I'm clueless right now to what it could be
