Im new to this forum, but i was wondering if my 01 f4i would be a good track bike. Of curse i will invest some money into performance, suspension, and body work. Also can some one let me know what are some beginning performance parts for my f4i. Thanks.

 

Your f4i is a great track bike. I recently bought one just for track use and am in the process of getting it ready. Some things to upgrade/change should be:
Tires
Exhaust
air filter
suspension
rear sets

Not necessarily in that order, but just some ideas as you can spend as much as you want trickin' it out. You will also need to check the requirements at the track you intend to ride to find out their requirements.

 

I just got mine out to the track last week for the first time and I must say it is an awesome track bike. With my gearing (-1 +2) it pulls strong out of the corners and still has plenty for the front straight (Thunder Hill) I would seriously recommend rear sets if your serious about putting knee down. I was dragging my pegs around nearly every corner and that was with the feeler's removed. by the end of the day my pegs were trashed and the feeler's wont even screw back in. But who needs em anyway!

Do you have to safety wire evry bolt? or just the ones on the outsideof the fairing?
