F4i fuel problem - HELP
Thanks for the update diver. so I guess the next question is how to disable the auto choke... It seems that if it happenend once it will happen again?!?! and again and again. I am about to change out to my 3rd set of plugs already and like you are contemplating a "true fix" by getting another bike. Don't get me wrong this is a grea tbike and I really like it but damn... I sold my 00 r6 and got this 01 f4i and I am really starting to regret my choice in the matter. this bike is way more comfortable and easier to ride and I thought I was making a fair trade off of hp for comfort/handling. I have read a few posts here on rich problems( I think 3) and think that this must be a more common problem than it seems. Sooo close to getiing rid of this bike just for this one reason...Anyone have a beter "repair" for this problem that diver nd I could benefit from other than the little band aid that was given to him from the dealer cause I would hate to be "stuck on band aid and the repair bill stuck on me"( plugs 70 to 80$ a set and oil change min40$ and thats just for parts).
HI, Just joined this wonderful honda site. Just has a thought on the fuel problem, I had a problem with my 2002 f4i recently it ended up being a kick stand sensor, but in my quest to track down the problem i tested by fuel pressure and it was high. So i replaced my fuel pressure regulator and it fixed a few other probs i had with slight hes. when cold, if you u are having fuel probs, i would check that out. new part cost around $60.
Took bike to the dealer wed. afternoon and bike was done fri. morn. I followed diver by just taking it to the dealer. They spoke with me for a while and asked what the symptoms were... so I told them. they remapped my pcIII usb and tweaked the map(will check out map and what they did later) bike runs better . Lucky for me I took the bike to the 1/4 mile last week and am planning to take it again tomorrow and that should tell the story. BTW they charged me 75$... much less than I planned to spend. and last weeks best time was 12.28 @ 111 mph. I was really hoping for at "least" a mid 11 sec and at least 120 mph. It should do at least the 120mph part but(crossing my fingers) the track here requires full leather for any passes above 120mph... yup you guessed it the money I planned to spend on repairs bought me some new AStar pants..... and you gotta get a matching jacket.....500$ total. will keep you posted on what happens
