Default f4i fuel injection performance

Hey, I've only been on a fuel injected bike once and that was on my friend's Suzuki 600. I forgot the year but it was probably early 2000s. It was aggrevating after being used to my YZF600r's smooth carburetion.

Here is how it was:

You twist your wrist and it goes, but not gradually. Lets say you're holding steady throttle and want to accelerate so you turn the grip just a smidgen. Well on this fuel injected bike it would come in bursts (or stages) as in, it was not gradual. Its like it had, say, 30 different throttle settings, where a carbureted bike would be nearly endless or infinite.

Did any year model of Honda's f4i suffer these symptoms or any other bugs in the newly installed fuel injection?

Also, if I bought an FI bike that has set for years without proper 'winterizing' would it harm the injectors. I know if this happens on a carbed bike, then you have to remove and clean the carbs and jets. Must you simply drain the fuel and refill with fresh gas or does it require more?

Well it really depends on how long it been sitting. one season or 10 years. Least you will have to do is drain and run a fuel injector cleaner. Most would be pull and replace.

If its been sitting for a couple of years watch for rust in the tank.

Other ?'s are indoors or out door storage?
