Default F4i Fork seals HELP!!

So my fork seals are leaking and i was getting a quote from a dealership. He said my bushings were probably gone and it would cost around 500$ for everything. He also said that just to change the fork seals it would be 120 each. Since its a dealer i don't know what to believe because they rip you off. Can some please help me my bike is a 2001 cbr f4i

dealers dont really rip you off, they are just expensive. they have to make money too. fork seals cost 30 bucks maybe another 30 for bushings and 20 for honda fork oil and maybe 3 hours of your time. they really arent hard but they take some work to do. if you dont do it yourself you will always pay more for someone else to do it for you

just bc its expensive doesnt mean its a rip off. dealers have been an extreme help to me and always help me with my questions when i have them. bushings slide out right under the fork seals. if you take your old seals off you have to hold the bushings in or they will come off too.

Just cuz your fork seals are leaking doesnt mean your bushings are shot. Dealers do constantly try to sell you stuff you don't need and they have no way of knowing without having it apart. I have rebuilt mine twice in the 2 years ive owned it because they were leaking and bushing have never need replacing.

if you rode on the blown seal for a significant amount of time it could damage your bushing, or pulling excessive wheelies. 500 seems excessive, id expect to pay around 350 to 400 to have seals and bushings done on both forks. i just flipped my bushings over when mine were shot lol

I was looking at this tutorial is his bike supported on his stand by the front nose piece?

Also my front stand picks the bike up from under the forks so I don't know how I would be able to lift my bike to get the forks off.

Yep, you need either a front yoke stand, or to suspend the bike by the frame with tow straps, to either a ceiling joist, or a motor lift.
