Finally got caught up on your diary here. You have one hell of a bike man. She's beautiful! You have countless hours in it and it sure shows! I'm about 4 hours south of you and don't know how often I'll make it up to the city on my bike but if I ever do we will for sure have to ride. Keep up the great work and I think I'm gonna have to use a couple of your ideas, although no where NEAR what you did!

I commend you for what you do bro. I logged in to do my daily check on the forum, and it took me an hour to get through your diary. It really shows your pride in ownership. It means much more to do your own work, rather than take it to the shop. Keep up the good work. Bike looks good.

thanks i appreciate it...i swear at some point i am going to update this whole thing with all the work...so stay tuned...right now i still have wave rotors, new brakes, PCIII, filter, etc to put on...

i am moving so i haven't done anything in so long and where my bike is stored, it's very hard to take good pictures which is why there aren't many good pictures...but AS SOON as i move...i swear i will go through and write up everything i have done...lol...

on the side...i just got the agreement done for my job...going to be completely custom and finished this fall so she'll also have a new look to go along with the bike!

Fingers-
Nice ride man! I have recently been looking into doing a few mods, for my '02 F41. As I was looking around I found your thread...job well done!

Quick question, for us novice folks...

Are there any specialty tools that you would call a "must have", "recommended" or "optional"? Assuming the basics are in my garage...

Cloots

Only weird tool I've needed to work on my bike was a 22mm socket for the front axle. We didn't have any that big, had to borrow it. Otherwise most of your work will be done with hex wrenches, screw drivers, and metric sockets. (In my experience at least; I don't do any motor work so I don't know how fancy that stuff gets.)

no specialty tools really unless you count a chain breaker for the chain and a few other tools that may not be readily available....meaning a torque wrench, etc....most stuff is pretty standard...trust me, working on the bike, you will slow start stocking your garage with "must have" tools...haha...

sorry i have been out for awhile, new kid and moving has pretty much stalled my bike build, but look for it to kick back up in the winter months as i now have a garage...mmm.....fun times ahead....!!
