Default exhaust smell

Hello everyone I''ve been browsing the site for awhile but haven't posted anything yet. I have a 02 f4i with 22K, when it starts there is a real strong smell from the exhaust but not really gas, I've replaced thefpr, also when I get home my backpack or back of my jacket have the exhaust smell. any ideas? it does have a muzzy slip-on

Yeah, mine has a distinct "aroma" to it also. Sometimes I'll be able to smell it long after I park the bike. If it's not emitting gasoline or burnt oil smells, then we're good, imo.

Probably just the element in the exhaust. Is it new?

The pipe was on the bike when I got with 10K and it didn't smell nearly as strong. I was thinking about getting a new one. I''ve had other bikes and all have some smell but none made my jacket and stuff smell. I'm going to start shopping for a pipe

I've never jumped off a bike and smelled the same as when I got on it. They stink, the cars around you stink, the road surface stinks - you're gonna stink.

If someone pulls out in front of you and you crap your pants - then I'd worry about the smell.

Hahahaha

I have allways like the smells when riding for the most part. I did however, have it stated in the last week that I smelled like "cut grass" when I first get to work on days I ride.
