Default exhaust question 06 f4i

So i was trying to switch the exhaust on my bike back to stock from a yoshi. I bought a stock exhaust off an 05 f4i. I went to switch the exhausts when i noticed that attached to the yoshi's midpipe is a cable, and on the stock exhaust there was not spot to connect it. WHat is this cable? was there a change in 06 from 05? if this is an o2 sensor i thought only california models had them. but i bought the bike used from a dealership in NH.

Check if the cable is actually connected to anything. I checked the manual and the O2 sensor is only on Cali models. Could be the cable leads nowhere.

Well slap me silly. Just went and looked. There's one hiding behind the lower fairing. Apparently they didn't update the service manual. Or mine is outdated despite saying 2001 - 2006

My service manual is a printed Honda service manual 2001 - 2006. I do suspect its a reprint someone made. Tho its a very high quality one. Says point blank that the o2 sensor only applies to Cali models.

But like I said, I went and visually confirmed there's one on my 06. And it doesn't have any Cali designator on the VIN plate
