Default Exhaust help

My current exhaust has some issues (different story) and I am waiting for a new slip-on to arrive in the mail. There is currently not one on my bike. Can I still ride my bike with no slip-on? How bad is it for the bike? Can any damage occur? If so, how long can it be ridden before damage occurs? Thanks in advance

Yes you can ride open header, but be guaranteed to get a ticket. And you'll probably lose mpg.

yeah it will run really rich and really loud but shouldn't cause any short term damage

you know...do you think just the header alone is enough back pressure to prevent your valves from burning up?

i'm just throwing that out there...i don't know the answer...but does seem like something that can potentially happen.
