Engine temp rises to 228 then stays there
Real simple possible issue, I just picked up my second f4i, and after having it about a week when i was stuck in traffic the temp got to 228 and stayed there. My last f4i the temp would rise to 225, fan comes on temp goes down to 215 and it shuts off like normal, but with this bike it is staying at 228, should i just ignore it or try to find a solution, coolant level is good also temp out side was about 82 in traffic
Never "ignore" anything that could possibly affect safety.
Your thermostat may need replacing or the fan could have a prob w/ switching on. Check those things out.
Follow the trouble-shooting procedures outlined in the factory Honda service manual.

To OP, you want to try something cheap that MIGHT work? I just bought a temp fan switch for a 1983 Nissan pulsar (non-turbo) from RockAuto for $8. It is supposed to make the fan come on at 200F instead of 225F. You can look up my thread on it.
When im in traffic my fan kicks on at 225 then it would still rise to about 228 229 but if I sit l ok longer it will go back down around 222 223. Never thought it was an issue. Was told as long as it doesnt got 233 235 your ok.
My fan comes on at 228, and it turns off if the temp goes below that. Sitting in traffic, my temperature will always stay around that range. So it seems normal to me, and my bike has been like that for 7 years.
The fan does come on, i let it cool down made sure coolant was toped off, then started bike and let idle, the temp hit 225 and the fan came on but the temp rose to 228 and then held there (didn't increase or decrease). On my last f4i the fan would reduce the temp to 217 and then turn off. From what you guys are saying my temp is fine, because it was a hot day
