Engine oil change...

RE: Engine oil change...
Its easy jsut turn you wheel to one side, drain the oil put the plug back in take off the filter and let it drain, make sure when you put your new filter back on that the rubber seal isnt still stuck on the engine. then fill it back up with 3.5 qt of oil. you dont have to use syn oil but its recommmended.

Anyways. Mostly everyone here is correct. 15 minutes +/- and you're set. No need to remove any plastic. Another thing I do is rub a little oil (with my finger) on the filter's rubber seal prior to putting it back on the bike. This kinda makes sure the filter seats well. Might not help much but it sure doesn't hurt. Then use a ratchet and adapter to snug it up.
As far as the synth oil is concerned... plenty of reading and opinions on that one. I'll let you decide!

RE: Engine oil change...
How much does it cost to do oil change?
i called a service place they chargin $55
for new filter, and oil labor
not too sure which type of oil and filter they usin to replace it with
what brand oil do i go with?
10w40 pro honda Gn4 4stroke oil.
my owners manual does not mention the part number or the type of oil filter, it just says to change it.

And switch to full synthetic, just make sure it is motorcycle oil and not car oil.

I use Honda OEM filters and Mobile 1 15w50 Full Synthetic every 3K. You will notice the tranny shifts smoother after an oil change.
IMHO $55 is too much for an oil change. The bike uses less oil than a car and is easier to get to everything.
GN4 and OEM Filters are recommended.
Don't use FRAM. If you want to know why, cut one apart sometime. OEM Honda or K&N are the best IMHO.
