Engine Ice
Here's question of the hour....Has anyone here used engine ice in their f4i? I am back and forth about it, its a process just to use because your not supposed to mix w/ other coolant. Just wondering, if you used have you seen a difference at all and also, any other coolant recommendations?
i have Engine Ice in my bike and right now i dont see a difference in temp cause its so hot in HOTLANTA!..but if u do go with it the make sure u mix NO green coolant with it. it will cause the coolant to gel up and ur bike will over heat. i had to flush my coolant 3 times before i felt comfortable putting it in but it does help!
This is the first year that I have used it and it works fine.
I used to use just water in the summer (track days) and switch to ethylyn glycol in the winter, but I got sick if having to flush the coolant out twice a year.
I found that Engine Ice is safe for track use AND good for -20 (ithink) so that was a no brainer for me
I havent really noticed a drop in overall engine temp though.....

I know someone who actually bought engine ice for me, and I have yet to get it from them. I'll probably use it if I can get it from them.
I'm still running factory reccmendations now, but I'm not a **** about what goes in as long as it's coolant.
Isn't ideal 50% water and 50% coolant?
