Easiest way to remove side stand? ('04)
Hi everyone,
I recently acquired a 2004 F4i and I noticed the kickstand is bent to the point that the bike leans to the left at an angle I'm not comfortable with. I've already acquired a used replacement in good condition that comes with everything. I was brainstorming the easiest way to swap these, initially I was hoping it would be as simple as removing it from the bracket and attaching my new one. However, the clutch pedal tie rod is in the way of the rightmost bolt. I also noticed that the cable for the side stand switch (or whatever its called lol) snakes up into the bike. I thought it might be removable from the point in which it attaches to the side stand but after looking at some diagrams, I don't think that's the case. I thought about just removing the bolt at which the side stand pivots in order to avoid needing to mess with the tie rod/wire but I dunno how smart of a maneuver that is...how would you guys go about doing this? Thanks!
