Default Dimming Lights

I have a 2005 F4i and when I put on brakes the headlights dim. I do have a aftermarket fender eliminator on it but its weird. Does it on low and high beams. Also planning on going to HIDs any special type I should use and will this dimming problem affect them?

Ive actually found that they dont dim with HID's. At least with my car.. :-)

When my subs hit, i could pretty much make my headlights go out. With HID's they dont dim AT ALL, but all the other lights in my car do. I think the balasts for HID's have some capacitors or something in them to store charge to stay running during power dips.

Reds it sounds like you need a capacitor in the rest of you lighting power distribution circuit. Lol

Battery is only maybe a year old. I'm wondering if it's the fender eliminater I bought for it. Anyone know what hid kit I need?

Agree -- check battery, and all of your grounds.

The reason they are dimming is that there is either not enough juice, or no where for it to go.

At idle this will be more pronounced if it is the battery - if it is a ground it will happen at high rpm's as well.

Mine did the same thing until I switched to HIDs. No problems since. I have the DDM tuning kit and it's awesome. Just under 50 bucks shipped for the 6k kit.
