Is my battery going bad? Dimming lights...
Hey guys, lately I've noticed when I'm sitting a light with my turn signals on and my brights on that my headlights dim as my turn signal flashes and then in between flashes my headlights get bright again. So it's appears that my turn signal and my headlights/taillights are flashing together. lol
Would a battery cause this? The bike starts up fine. Any other ideas if it's not the battery?
Thanks.

You probably have one of the F4i models equipped with mood lighting.
Not a big deal. Your bike is running of power from the stator when the engine is running. Its turning slowly and not developing as much power just like the alternator on a car. Only thing you need to worry about with your battery is if it quickly starts your bike when you crank it up.

If you have the usual (filament) turn signals, it's possible that a bad battery could cause a momentary dimming of the headlight each time the turn signal starts to flash... if you have LED turn signals, they shouldn't dim the lights... check the wiring to make sure there's no minor short causing a large current draw everytime the signal flashes.
Do you have starting problems?
now your battery could lose charge if you only do short rides. It takes up to half hour to charge the battery if it's been sitting for a few days. Even for a good battery.
If you decide your battery is bad, I got a gel battery off ebay for 40 shipped or something and its worked great for a year even in cold and dropping the bike etc.

With the engine at idle, the lightspulse very slightly with the turn signals on. A slight rev up to about 2000rpm will reduce the those signs.
Normal operations, nothing to worry about as long as your engine fires up once you try to start it.
