Default digital speedo

Hi,

My digital speedo is reading zero some of the time (not just when stopped!!). its working 50% of the time.
I'm guessing there's a loose connection, can anybody tell me where it connects and how I might troubleshoot it?

thanks,
Drew

This happens to me also... but not 50% of the time. A little less than that.

My FI light also comes on when it happens, does that happen to you also?

I'll keep an eye on this thread cuz I wanna know what's wrong with out bikes.

Sounds like mabe your speed sensor is comming disconnected. It is located directly below the top of your rear shock on top of the transmission it has 3 wires green pink and black check the connection there. Mabe that could fix the problem?

Thanks for the advice. Its a hard thing to access that's for sure. 2 hours later and still struggling.
Seems to work better after a few miles so fingers crossed for corrosion.

Ddarren, from what I've found, if the FI light is coming on then it knows of a specific problem, the self diagnosis ideas relating to speedo are:
Loose or poor contact on vehicle speed sensor connector
open or short circuit in speed sensor
faulty speed sensor.
... really helpful then.
