Did you try reversing the connection?

I went to radio shack and bought 100 ft of wire for around 5 bucks. thats all you need and It worked great for all my turn signals/lights. just make sure you get the right size wire.

Hook up orange to orange on one side and orange to light blue on the other.
Hook up green to the separate green wires. Leave the white striped wires disconnected.

Sounds like you just need to convert 3 wire to 2 wire. Easy to do. This is a must to use LED signals on your stock harness.
FYI, this will still make the signals flash crazy fast. there are ways around that but i like the fast blink.

Redzintimidator has a great writeup on it here:
He even has your identical signals

........almost

3 wires coming from bikes harness are Ground (Green) Solid color (signals)
Striped (running). Hotbodies flush mounts have a red and black wire. With your new harness connect black to green and the red goes to the orange wire. Plug into harness.

You didn't get ripped off, you just bought something that doesn't work for your bike. Those adapters are probably more suited for rear turn signals (two-wire) than front (three-wire).

I found it easier to cut the harness off the old turn signals and splice the wires coming from your flush mounts to the stock harness.
