decal stripping

Default decal stripping

how can you take of your decals? what is the best way to doit, and will the paint under the decals be brighter that the areas that dont have stickers?

yes the paint under the decals will be in better shape, but a lil wax n elbow grease should match it up fairly well unless they are really trashed. goo-be-gone(sp?) wd-40, a heat gun or hair dryer will make it easier to remove the decals too.

hairdryer worked great for me. Then some wd40 to get the residue off.

i wrote up a little bit about it in my diary thread.....but everything everyone wrote works perfect....my combo of choice...hairdryer, out in the sun, a patient hand, and a lot of goo-be-gone....get the thicker stuff...let it sit and remove....rinse and repeat...then yes, you will have to work at the paint because you will have a residual line where the sticker was...you can wait it out and it will fade or you can work at it and match it up good again....

just know, once you remove them, they are done...they stretch out pretty good when you remove 'em....not like it matters
