What kind of paint did you use on it? If the paint job isnt cracking or peeling I would just scuff it wet with 600 and spray over it.

I just used paint thinner in a big gallon jug. You just spread it generously, and once the paint starts to get soft you wipe it right off. Don’t leave it on too long because it will eat thru the plastic if it’s on for too long. I was stripping someone’s ****ty paint job that was over stock paint, the stock paint didn’t strip off. If you’re looking to paint stock painted plastic, just rough up the finish with some sandpaper and go to town.

If the stock paint had started to chip off, how would you go about getting that off? My replacement fairings have some chipped off flecks [>:]

You should be good with using simple paint thinner then. Just get out an old rag, some solvents, and start wiping it down. It's better to do it outside because the fumes get to you even then. I also suggest taking the plastic off and doing one piece at a time so that you don't miss the seams and makes the job a lot easier.
