I was just wondering what you guys do when it comes to paying tolls? Im asking because I am getting tired of pulling up to a toll booth and trying to dig through my pockets, with gloves on, looking for quarters. I live in Fl and down here we have the sun pass. Im sure all states have some version of the sun pass. I thought about getting one but I dont want to mount it under the wind screen because the last thing I need is it falling off while riding, and it falling down into the forks. Does anyone have a toll pass and keep it in their pocket? Will it register without taking it out of your pocket? I would rather know if this works before trying it and end up with a bunch of fines because the pass didnt work from my pocket. Just looking for some ideas?
Hey Kevin,

I'm in Orlando and I took off my windscreen and set the sunpass right behind the instrument cluster. Put the windscreen back on and it always registers. I could never get it to register any other way (pocket, under seat, on windscreen, etc.) Name: PIC-0043.jpg

I'm impressed by the number of honest citizens. Most people I have seen have their plates tucked behind their rear wheel cuz of their fender eliminators, so they ride through w/o an ezpass. I personally keep mine in my pocket.

When I went to FL for vacation I had a rental car and just got sick of paying all the crazy tolls so I ended up going through the EZ Pass lanes. Never got a bill from the rental company or anything hehe

I had my transponder in my backpack and went through two Fast Lanes in one day, but my bike isn't on the account. None of the red/yellow/green lights lit up when I went through either time. A week later I got a violation notice, and two days later I got a $50 fine (both for the same day).

I told them to f*ck off because it's not my fault their system doesn't work, and I never had any indication I was doing something wrong until the first violation letter, which was obviously too late. But they denied my appeal, heh. So now I have to schedule a hearing... wish me luck.

in the Bay Area, California, we have FASTRAK. When I have the transponder in my jacket, pocket, tank bag or rear seat, 98% of the time it doesn't read. Only when I pull out the transponder and hold it in my hand. If you ride through the toll gate and do not pay, the high speed cameras will take a picture of your plates. I just dont carry my transponder anymore and let the cameras take a pic of my plate. Usually I see my toll crossing show up on my fastrak bill at the end of the month so it works out.

any chance you could somehow build a pocket into the inside of your sleeve near your hands? Seems like then you would move the pass easily if itll work through your jacket. keep in mind I dont know much about these toll booths because I just live in Dayton. None around here
