Coolant hose replacement

Coolant hose replacement
I am wondering if i should replace the coolant. I drained it for a flush and for the valve adjustment and some coolant came out of the hoses with some ugly black sort of slimy stuff. Is this the hoses breaking down? Bike has almost 38,000 miles. Im thinking I maybe should just replace the main ones just incase. Anyone had to change their hoses?

Hopefully it's not your heat exchanger/oil cooler. Was there a lot of it, was it floating on the top? If so, that black slimy stuff could be oil. But it could be also, depending on how long it's gone without a flush, deteriorated coolant and/or contaminants that have collected in it over time. Something to keep an eye on though.
Regarding the hoses, older ones will sometimes exhibit signs of rotting. Meaning they'll become more prone to cracking and oftentimes little chunks will break off when they're bent. Also when they're worn out, they'll develop soft spots, usually at bends. These are easily identifiable by just squeezing along the length of the hose. If there's a spot that's considerably softer than the rest, that's your weak point.
