Default clutch switch and fork tension

well two questions here... can't start the bike in first gear, clutch pulled, kickstand up... sounds like it's the clutch switch from doing a little searching... how do i test that and how do i fix it?

and i notice when i go down the road that my bike seems to feel every bump... almost like my forks are too stiff... if i ride with my dad... my bike and headlight bounce almost the whole time and his stays mostly still... does that sound like the forks are too stiff? on the dial at the top they are turned all the way to H so it could be too tense? is it normal for mine to be that bouncy? or is it possible that if the previous owner did a lot of wheelies that he messed up the forks?

f4i forks can take a big beating. try sdjusting it. u need to get the service manual. i beleive u can find it in the faq sticky. thatll help u diagnose the clutch switch and adjust your suspension.
and the headlight bounce, u need to put something back on right, it shouldnt really jiggle hen u go over bumps, it should stay with the bike

yeah i know i need to get the headlight fixed because the plastic tabs are broken off except for 2...

but i feel like the whole bike kinda shakes... the way i really notice it is in the headlights and that's what i was referencing...

i have the service manual.. didn't think about checking that for the clutch switch thanks

ok so after reading through the service manual i don't see how to adjust the forks just shows how to change them...

i mean there is that dial at the top of the forks but if i adjust that is there something else i need to do?

U got the dial at top and bottom. Both have little marks on them. Turn them all the way in then back out one turn and then line up the marks. On the bottom I think it's an extra quarter turn and top an extra three quarters turn. Then your preload is oem at 4 notches. That's the rods that stick up in the middle of the fork at the top. Just get a14mm wrench on it and turn it whichever way it needs to
go and set it at 4 notches. That's Just to put it back to stock. U can use your preferences if u like

what do you mean when you say turn them all the way in?

take the screwdriver and turn them so they are flush or set to the softest setting or what?

turn the rebound and compression adjusters right all the way (full hard) then back them out to factory settings.

Factory settings strait from the service manual....

front forks
pre-load adjuster initial setting --- 4th groove from top
(larger nut on top of forks)
rebound adjuster initial setting --- 1-3/4 turns out from full hard
(small screw on top of forks)
compression adjuster initial setting --- 1-1/4 turns out from full hard
(small screw by brakes)

rear
spring adjuster standard position --- position 3
rebound adjuster initial setting --- 1-1/2 turns out from full hard
(on bottom of shock)
compression adjuster initial setting --- 1-1/2 turns out from full hard
(on reservoir attached to subframe)
