how much play does you handle have in it? how did you adjust it? per the manual?

how many miles are on the bike? it is unlikely that an '04 with anything but staightout abuse, would have worn out clutch

How many miles do you have on the clutch? If you rip on the throttle and the rpm's go up and you don't go anywhere, You are going to need to replace the clutch. i had the same thing happen to me. You can ride it for awhile but if you want your power when you need it, your clutch is your issue. There is a post on how to replace it, its really easy to do, doesn't take much time. I went with a Barnett clutch, and it runs better than ever.

If it had oil with fiction modifers in it, that would cause it. See it's a new bike and you don't know I would change it a see if it helps

that makes the most sense. change the oil, then adjust the clutch per the manual. If that doesnt take care of it, pull it apart and see what the issue is.
