Never had to replace a clutch on a bike, but I was just wondering what your attachment had to do with your question....

Getting them out is not too bad. getting them back in is sometimes a pain. I changed mine on my 1000rr in about 30mins. Just follow what you take out when putting them back in. They slide in little groves so I would rate it about 3 1/2

It sounds as if the gears or the engagement dogs on the gears are worn or broken. I hate to say it but it will probably be a pain to fix. It involves dropping the motor and splitting the cases. I have had to do the job a couple of times and I disliked doing it every time. The nut you are talking about, have you hit it with a impact gun yet. If you try to remove it and it spins you have to hold the basket to keep it from moving. A nice big screwdriver works but I'm sure there is a tool. Sometimes the screwdriver and a long breaker bar works wonders. Good luck.
