I wouldnt do that just cause i wouldnt want to weld any more than necessary. It is pretty tricky to do. I just made one cut and thus one weld by cutting the end cap off then cutting my amount out and put the cap back on. Unless you just really love welding i dont see the point in two cuts.

Well I was planning on cutting into my stockexhaust today and I a few questions popped up...
I was planning on doing it like lamby, but then I got an idea. If you cut off the veryend of the can, can you push all the inner pipes and packing down the pipe (to eliminate the need for rewelding the mount)? Are the inner pipes secured in the can somehow?
Also, I assume the can is stainless and I believe that you can't just use a mig welder on stainless, you have to use a tig welder, right? What did you guys weld with?

without reading all the previous posts.....
ive done it, cut out as little as possible if youre worried about it scraping in a 12 oclock wheelie but if you just want to take it off so that you get the sound dont do it. Basically you lose back pressure and it sounds like crap anyways and you lose some low end power.
