Chopping Stock Exhaust---Help
I searched and couldn't find anything...
I have a 2002 F4i and I want to chop the stock exhaust to make it shorter and louder. Has anyone done this? I would rather not just cut it in half and see what happens. I also do not want it too loud, just a little louder than stock.
Thanks for the help.

RE: Chopping Stick Exhaust---Help
I cut 18 inches out of mine and take all baffling out of it. And honestly wouldnt recoomend it. It is a whole lot louder which doesnt bother me but almost all back pressure is gone. Of course i took the inner tip out as well. I had done it orginally and it was straight through with inner smaller tip still in it, it would harmonize itself with gt2nv 06 f4i with a yoshi on it. Slice the cap off on a band saw be careful it will fight you a bit with the internal pipes. Remove all the internals. Id say about 10 inches out (thats what I had on the first one i made) of the actually can. Find someone good at tig welding and there you go.

RE: Chopping Stick Exhaust---Help
The other real point is to be orginal. anybody can do whatever they want to their own bike but we shouldnt call them squids for doing it when in your sig it looks like your trying to be nicky haden on the street with visor up and in jeans. Also my bike does sound like performance its just a little bit louder then your two bros cost me nothing and i get people saying never seen that where did you get it. I say I made it what do you say? But to answer the real question do like a suggested. Cut 10 inches out leave the smaller tip in and will sound like a yosh and it wont cost 500 dollars or be a cookie cutter motorcycle

RE: Chopping Stick Exhaust---Help
i cut 6 inches off the rear of the pipe so no backpressure was lost and not much louder than stock. cut themounting pointand re welded that too. there are 4 pipes in the end of the exhaust and when you cut into them it'll get louder. the front 6 inches of the pipe is empty
