Default charging problem?? plz help!! :(

my bike all of a sudden has started dying and losing charge while riding and if i come to a stop and let it get under 3k or hit the brakes or turn the brights on it dies instantly...sometimes it will crank and sometimes it wont.. the battery tested 11.7 volts which i know is not charged but is it the battery causing this or something deeper causing it and causing the battery to lose charge? any help is appreciated... thanks in advance

it could be a number of things have your charging system checked those might not be working correctly. if it is that order the part and install yourself saves a lot of money. i could be a wire got exposed and is touching metal could drain your battery as well. get the charging system checked soon otherwise you will prolly have to buy a new battery as well. once you find the issue post a reply im interested to see what it is

check the battery connection and make sure it is tight.

if you're bike is dying on the road, then the problem is more than just the battery. there is a thread somewhere in this forum that talks about how to check the charging system... basically... you start ur bike...get it up to 5k rpm, and check the battery terminals with a mutimeter... if it's normal it should read something like 14+ volts.

but you need to check these 2 things...before going forward

not sure why it recommends that you spray WD40 on electrical stuff. someone did that here on the forum has shorted everything out and had to re-clean it all.
