if it's not making any noise then I wouldn't worry about it.

Well i ordered the tensioner and gasket from a online store and they told me it was back ordered so i went and bought it locally then when i went to cancel the online order they ignored me and sent it anyways and now say to return it i owe them shipping and 30% restocking fee. Screw that. IF ANYONE NEEDS THE OEM TENSIONER AND GASKET I WILL SHIP IT TO YOUR FRONT DOOR FOR $60

Just wanted to say thanks in here as well; this thread saved me a couple hundred bucks and a lot of frustration. The one thing I did have some luck with is a 'flexible extender' (http://www.amazon.com/Flexible-Extension-Ratchet-Mechanic-Tools/dp/B00129IG7W) as opposed to the solid ones shown here. A lot of the torque got robbed when turning, but once the bolts started to turn, getting them in and out was much easier (read: possible.)

Otherwise, amazing thread, and a great help. It certainly beats following the factory manual.

I put on an APE chain tensioner on today and now once the bikes gets warmed up (say above 185) it won't idle. Any ideas? Could it possibly be adjusted to lightly? It sounds good, no rattling, so I doubt its too loose. Thanks

I'VE got a rattling noise coming from the left side (when sitting on my bike) of my engine and i know the cctl is on the right side. would this still be the cctl or it could it possibly be my valves need adjusting. my bike is on 02 f4i with 18k on it. thanks for the help.
