let us know when you put it back in if it seems better. i just got my 02 f4i with about 9k miles on it and its already driving me crazy at around 5-6000 rpm, and im considering taking out my cctl and punching the ends of the pins.

Will do! I'm sure it'll be quiet at first (since it's brand new).....just wondering about the longevity of this mod....you know???

Still waiting on the parts from the dealer (gasket & bolts) and some decent weather (gonna get in the 30's this week [:@]) to do it.

Very informative post, I have never heard of this problem and now I have. My bike is an 02, with 8800 miles on it now. And I have never heard any BB's in a can on my bike. Was this a problem is earlier bikes and taken care of in the 02 series?

I just got a manual CCT on ebay. It was $50.00. I am gona put it in tomorrow. I will let you know how it goes. My friend did it last year and he said it handled it perfect. Do you guys know how to adjust it after i get it in?
