Cbr600f4i fuel issue
Hi
I have got a cbr600f4i 2001 which has been sitting for quite a while so I put in a new battery and the bike started straight away. After it got up to temp fuel started pouring out of 2 of the exhaust headers. I think it’s the fpr which I will change but do I need to do anything else to the bike before I start it up again? I think that I might have to change the oil ? Or will it be ok to just start the bike once I change the fpr
many thanks
Dan

After two years, I would be changing the oil anyway. You do want to make sure there is no fuel mixed with it after a bad fpr. Did you put fresh fuel in it and clean the prefilter? new fuel filter? You may also want to change the other fluids like the coolant, brake fluid, and possibly the fork oil to make it roadworthy.

i did put fresh fuel in before I started it but didn’t change the fuel filter. I will change the coolant and fuel filter when I change the oil and filter. Do you think that if I change the oil , filter and fpr the bike should be ok ? Also is it worth changing the plugs aswell? Cheers for the reply
Dan
That is excellent cheers. I have ordered a new fuel filter , New plugs and the FPR . I will change the oil and filter and the coolant at the same time as all the new bits
Cheers for the help as wasnt sure if the fuel coming out of the exhaust meant a dead engine

If that had happened to me? I would've gone straight to "Nuclear Meltdown" mode! lol. Glad you got some help and hope it's an easy fix!
To be honest when it happened I just went indoors and emailed a couple of companies which buy scrap motorbikes to get a quote for how much they would give me. They offered me £285 so I thought no way would I sell it for that so started looking for information of how and if it could be fixed and then came here and figured out that I would give it a shot to fix it myself.
