Last night I was about to go to school and try to turn it on. It wouldnt turn on. I turned the key and the FI turns on but it when you hit the starter, it sounds like it tries to on but then doesnt. I thought it might have been the battery, so I put it on the charger over night. This morning it still does not crank up. Anyone have any suggestions on what it could be? I havent cranked it up in about 4-5 days also and I had been riding it in the rain that last day until now. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Does anyone know whatI should start checking? Thanks for any advice.

 

i would check all of your grounds and any other wiring. there could be a short somewhere. I had the same problem. there was a lose connection with my alternator.

 

I also tried to install LED body lights. Do you think that a wiring problem could have caused something to blow? Maybe a fuse? I hooked the power for the leds to some green and brown wire that comes out of the little black box on top of the battery.

 

the little black box on top of the battery is the brain...
unless you have a charger that tells you how much voltage the battery has, you can't be sure if it even held a charge or not.
so...sure it's not the battery?

 

its sounds like and electrical issue. check the fuses and the headlights+wiring+etc

 

Pretty weird, today I tried to crank it it wouldnt work either. So I unplugged the wiring for the light kit i bought, still didnt work. So I checked the oil, It looked like it was a little on the low side but I didnt think it would be the problem. I then poured some more oil in it, and now cranked it up and it works. I am not sure if it is the low oil that caused it to not crank up. Could being low on oil cause that?

 

I never heard that before, but as long as it's starting now and keep a eye on the oil.
