Default Can't remove seat. HELP!

Okay, I installed my CW fender elim kit this weekend and the turn signals, seat lock, brake light etc. all worked okay. When I got home yesterday from a 40mi ride, I can't seem to remove the seat anymore. It seems like the cable was somehow disengage from the lock (no resistance when I turn the key to open the lock).

What do I donow? I can still ride the bike but what if I need to replace the battery or some wiring under the seat??!!??I need help.

I had the same problem when i did my kit and what you need to do is first remove the main bike seat. once that is off reach under the passenger seat and pull the locks chord until you can feel the seat come free. pull the seat off and now you need to make sure that the silver brackets allen wrench screw is tightened and totally still in tact. sometimes it comes loose because of the vibrations, chances are however that your problem is that there is no tension on the chord and turning the key will not release the lock. what I did was take a zip tie and zip tied the entire lock mechanism to the frame of the bike on the side. you have to play with it before you do anything permanent to make sure that it is going to release but it should work. good luck let me know how it goes

I like the zip tie idea. Do you have happen to have a picture of what you did?

"Removing main Seat" assumes that you have th split seat.

I was going to say take off the tail fairing but there are two screws under the seat to get it off. Might have to take off the undertail or whatever it's called and get at it that way.

if ya need to, unscrew the plastic screws that hold the bottom of the "stock undertail" off and try to get to the cable from the bottom. relatively easy
