Default can't remove seat

got a problem. apparantly the little latch that holds the seat on has dis-engaged from the seat lock. i can turn the lock (easily) but it does not release the seat. any ideas on how to get to this to remove the seat? i hate to use brute force to rip the seat off and probably damage or destroy the seat. Help!!

Sounds like your gonna have to use brute force man.... Just have someone open the lock while you pull up and back on the seat, it will come out. Maybe shake it a little bit and kick the tire, get angry with the thing. Damn Hondas.

this would be a time consuming alternative but you may be able to undo the 4 plastic screws (2 per side) from the fairing that hold the factory black tail section up. undo the two frankenstein bolts and anything else holding the black tray up. your not going to be able to move it much but you may be able to create enough room to get you hand or some long needle nose pliers up to the latch and pop it open.

i thought i would take it in to the dealer and see what they had to say. we used a long (bent) screwdriver and managed to pull the cable and off it came. the cable had come out of its seating. we used a zip tie to ensure that don't happen again. took about 5 minutes. whew!

That happened to me once too. Good call on not using "brute force." You can usually think your way out of situations like that.
