Default Cam Chain Tensioner issues

So I recetly bought a 2002 f4i with 2800 miles on it. After having it for a week i noticed this wierd ticking noise between 3500 and 5000 rpm. A mechanic recomened and new tensioner after listening to my bike. Personaly i thought that it seemed a little early in the bike's life for it to need a new internal part lilke that, but i ended up replacing it my self with anoughter stock genuine hond replacement. This seemed the make the ticking noise go away for about four days. So now the noise is back and i have put on anouther 3000 miles on the bike since then. Should i just stop worrying about the noise and ride it or is theresome otherway to fix it? such as after market cam chains or tensioners.

Default RE: Cam Chain Tensioner issues

yes you can buy an ape manual tensioner that replaces the stock one. however if you are hearing the noise at around 3000rpm it might not be the cct. the noise is usually heard only between 5-6000rpm.

also, try searching for cct information. there are tons of posts about suggestions on whether to replace it or not, what to replace it with, and even how to replace it. i think 1/2 of the f4i forum is posts about ccts, so try searching a little before creating another post about the noise. not trying to be rude, but it just happens alot. i hope that helps!
