break in
ive got a couple questions for u guys , first is just how would u guys recomend breaking in a brand new engine, i know how u break in a car engine and im guessing its probably the same cause the engine works the same and all the internals are basically the same but if u guys have any thing that u recomend id like to know, also this may sound like a total noob question lol but what do u recomend for like normal driving rpm, i mean just like driving down the street what are u guys bikes usually reving at cause to me everything sounds like its reving so high cause i went from a camaro that redlined at 7 to a bike that redlines at 14 so im just curious.

RE: break in
yea they say take it easy...but it's hard to take it easy mang...
there's guys who say break it in the way you'll be riding it and then others who say take it easy. just don't keep the RPM at one constant RPM...but vary it by swapping gears, etc...
it's ok to gun it...but try not to redline it...
when i gots mines, i actually bounced it off the limiter a few times...but bike is still fine...

Another thing to keep in mind during break in is ensuring the engine is thoroughly heat soaked before you shut it down. Riding at least 45 minutes at time should work. Heat soaking the engine will ensure that your pistons and rods will assume a permanent forged shape for years of biking enjoyment.

RE: break in
don't lug the engine, don't bouce it off the rev limiter either. while riding use a lot of engine braking to slown down. vary your gear selection and revs as much as possible. vary the revs from idle to 6-7 thousand with an occational blast above 10 thousand rpm for the first 600 miles. change your oil and filter at 500 miles. good luck, be safe and have fun. cheers

RE: break in
thanks for all the advice guys and from the sound of it sound basically just like a car, and yea the shifting was probably what i was wondering most about cause i rode for like 7 hours straight the other day and i was shifting at like 3 or 4 cause im used to my car and i was just shifting cause of the sound, cause 4000 rpm sound like 4000rpm no matter what u driving if u know what engines sound like so ill have to adjust with that thanks for all the advice though
