Default brake question

ok, ive had my f4i for about two months now. when i first got it the front brake lever had alot of tension in it. meaning you barely pull it before it would start to brake. but lately its been losing tension. its easier to pull and i can pull it further than before. so im wondering if this means im low on brake fluid or need a new line. please forgive my ignorance, this is my first bike and im trying to learn as i go. oh and also, the brake resevoir down by the rear brake is only half full. i was looking at my friends and his is totally full. does this have anything to do with it or do they have seperate resevoirs for front and back. id appreciate any help, thanks.

Default RE: brake question

the front resivor is on the handle bars...
when you use your brakes, the pads are worn down.. more fluid is used to push the piston in the caliper out when you apply the brakes, may be time for new pads, or just some more brake fluid (DOT 4, is what the guy at the honda shop gave me yesterday)
and i believe you can also adjust the firmness of the brake right by the lever also

Make sure to check your pads first. I had a guy once fill the fluid only to find the pads were bad and once he tried to compress the calliper he blew the master because of the pressure that built up. unless you have a leak soewhere there should be no reason to fill the fluid.
