ok so i took my 2001 f4i out today, it was around 70 degrees out my bike was running around 205 degrees after about 15 min of riding. then i began to notice everytime i came to a stop my bike would stall. it didnt matter if i was in 1st with the clutch engaged or in neutral... any ideas what the problem could be?

 

Maybe your idle is set too low, have you tried adjusting it?

 

i bought the bike used so i havnt touched the idle....wut do i do to adjust it?

 

Theres a little plastic **** thats black and on the end of a hose looking thing on the left side of the bike near the joint in the frame. Twist it to adjust your idle RPMs.

 

thanx man, i set it around 900rpm...it was around 700rpm. wut do u think bc im not sure if thats good or bad.

 

mine's at 1500. if it keeps dying like that, it might be your thermostat. the same thing happened to me, and as soon as i replaced the thermostat, it fixed it right away.

 

1,500 +/- 150 RPMs is normal
