Have you tried starting after engine cooled down? experienced same problem?

When I am caught in the heavy traffic, the temp goes up to 2xx but then the fan kicks on and cools it down.

Does your engine fan work? It should help until temp drops down to around 197

I havent tried to start it up once it cooled down ill try tommorow. And yes my fan does kick in but it never really drops the temp down to 190 something it always stays in the lower 2xx

The fan will only kick in to keep it under dangerous temps. You won't see any temps under 220 (at least with my bike) using just the fan. Gotta move and get air flow through the radiator for that.

I'm not sure what's causing your problem. Best of luck, though.

Read this: https://cbrforum.com/m_520431/tm.htm

The ground for the headlights and Bank Angle Sensor went out on mine this weekend - If symptoms are the same, it may be worth a check. (Mine is completely stock - no HID's, high wattage bulbs, etc)

My bike did the EXACT same thing two days ago. It hit 215 or 220 and just shut off. Waited for it to cool down and it had a little bit of trouble getting started again but as soon as i gave it a little gas it was fine. Road it another 40 miles the day after with no problems and my fan turned on too when it got in the 200's
