this is my bike revving to 5k, its kind of a short video but you can still hear what im talking about. It sounds a little rough so i think im just gonna change the fpr anyway while i have the tank and airbox off to do the plugs. I can take a longer video or get one of the bike while its being ridden too if need be.

You say you've checked the chain and it could use some lube but have you adjusted it? When I adjusted mine I noticed a instant difference but then again mine was really lose.

Yeah that was first thing i did. I checked the tension and i got a little bit over an inch for the amount of slack in it which is where it should be. My wear indicator is all the way to the right too so going by both of those things the chain is fine. But of course that wouldnt have anything to do with the way my engines running or sounds though which is my main concern.

This happened when I was riding my R1.. this may sound kinda dumb, but maybe you're just getting used to the bike?

haha yeah but ive never had it apart since ive owned it so ill be able to check out the air filter and itll be easier to change the plugs and i can do the fpr at the same time so whatever i dont mind, ill make a day of it.

raylee: that was one of other things i was thinking but i was hoping that wasnt it. In all seriousness up until last night ive never been WOT on it. Me and my friend went for a ummm...spirited ride. He used to have an 07 gixxer and was out of control but hes got a harley sportster now and still rides the thing like a maniac but i obviously had no problem keeping up with it and i got to run her wide open a couple times and it was the most fun ive ever had on the bike to date. so im a lot happier with how its running after doing all that last night but i feel like new plugs and everything still wouldnt hurt especially since i got 4 for $20 so why not. We switched bikes for a while too and he even said that it was fast as hell. I took it with a grain of salt since hes probably used to his sportster by now but it was still reassuring. F those things by the way. Theyre extremely comfortable and fun but i feel so out of touch with the bike since im not on top of everything. Got some serious head shake anytime i went above 70mph too. The one time i had to almost completely let go of the bars to try and let the bike straighten itself out but the only thing that worked was slowing down. After that i made him give me my baby back.
