hello:

Kerosene is what I use to clean the chain every 1000km- KEROSENE!!!
Make sure you dry it well also. Try with a hair dryer or an air compressor.


I personally recomend Motul chain lube. Apply it once the chain is dry and a bit warm. Your chain will shine as it has no lube at all and almost soundless.

 

I use WD-40 to clean mine, everytime i clean the bike, the less dirty it gets the easier to clean. 10,000 miles and chain still looks new.
if its really kacked up i`d get a designated chain cleaner kerosene does work but may damage your o rings.

 

I use this chain foam cleaner made by Simple Green. Great to use for dirtbikes too, works fabulous w/o hurting the O-rings at all . . . then Honda Pro HP chain lube Nice and clean! All found at your local bike shop, heh heh
