wow... those are pretty fresh!!! i actually was looking around and i stumbled upon some OSRAM Sylvania Silverstar ULTRAs over @ PepBoys for only 30 bux (with $20 mail in rebate) and I just installed them last nite. I couldn't really tell the difference at first but I took the bike around for a spin when it was darker and i could tell that they do help out a little in distance wise (it just makes it clearer instead of a cloudy figure in the distance with ur standard halogen). i also drove in a dark road and i could tell the difference that it views more on the sides.

thanks for putting up those pics! how are they in terms of vision??

ORIGINAL: cbrizzle

They are good so far, they are probably not as lumenous as HID's, I havent seen HID kit next to them so I am not sure how they are compared to them. The color looks very nice and it is brighter than the previous regular bulbs I had in them.I am stuck at school right now though, but once I get home I will snap some shots for you.
Dude those things won't even compare to hids. They are simply bulbs that are dyed or w/e. most of the time they are actually darker then normal lights due to the colored glass

I have PIAA Ion Yellow 2500K in the low and PIAA Spark 8000K in the high beam...best looking bulb i've ever used but a little pricey. Don't have any pics but trust me...the money is worth it. Very bright and wide.

Here's my bike and my friend's ninja, you can kind of compare normal halogen to the HID.

yeah that's true! but HID's are a little expensive aren't they. i figured that if it comes with stock halogen then its made for halogen. but dont get me wrong i've gotten really close to getting those HID convo kits. but then again i guess you get what u pay for...

I just got mine off of eBay for like $140 last year. My friend just got some for his car for freakin like $80 he said on eBay... However, the igniter is seperate from the ballast. My kit had the igniter built into the ballast, so I guess you get what you pay for lol. And FYI, there's no difference between a motorcycle and a car kit besides the fact that the car kit comes with 2 bulbs, 2 ballasts & igniters, and the bike kit comes with 1 of each. So if you're doing the conversion just get the car kit lol. And for installing, BlueFox made a superior guide for installing HIDs.

Of and if you feel like guaging the work involved for installing HIDs, here's BlueFox's guide. Really wasn't that hard to install either.
